About GlySta Studio

An independent fibre practice exploring structure, repetition, and tactile form through controlled construction.

GlySta Studio is an independent fibre-art and slow-making practice based in Caerphilly, Wales, founded by Stan and developed through an ongoing exploration of material behaviour, structural clarity, and the quiet rhythm of repeated making.

Working primarily through crochet as a method of controlled construction, the studio examines how layered accumulation, tension, and compression can build functional objects that hold sculptural presence while remaining responsive to touch, handling, and time. Each piece is developed slowly through close observation of fibre behaviour, balancing precision of form with subtle natural variation created through hand construction.

The archive exists as a living studio record — documenting released works, material studies, companion pieces, and authored notes that trace the continued development of GlySta Studio’s practice in structured fibre form.
